Victoria AndersonAccording to Victoria Anderson, Head of Grantmaking at CAF:

Our Grantmaking Programme aims to support the growth and development of small and medium-sized charities. We do this by offering a package of support tailored to the charities’ needs. We believe that a combination of time with a CAF consultant, funding for training and cash support enables charities to build their capacity and make the most effective use of resources.

Wales-based charity, Valeways, and the Big Issue Foundation are just two of the 16 charities to receive support from CAF. Founded in 1966 to improve and maintain access to the Vale of Glamorgan’s beautiful countryside, Valeways received a five day ‘Healthcheck’ and 12 days consultancy time for an organisational review, including business and strategic planning.

CAF's 2006/07 Grant Programme aims to build the capacity of small to medium sized charities. Other services include support for other grantmakers by distributing funds on their behalf and monitoring of the use of distributed funds.

The Big Issue Foundation works together with the Big Issue Company to create opportunities for people facing homelessness to take greater control of their lives. They received support from CAF to assist with business planning.

CAF is inviting applications from charitable organisations with an annual income of up to £3 million to get their applications in before the 6 October deadline. To find out more, or to apply for funding online, visit www.cafonline.org/grants.
