Students form a giant human red ribbon to mark World Aids Day at the Belfast campus of the University of Ulster.
Students from the University of Ulster organised a series of events to mark World Aids Day - 1 December 2005 - including the formation of a giant human red ribbon outside the Belfast campus.
Supported by the University's Community Relations team and the Students' Union, students manned stands across the four campuses to raise awareness of the issues surrounding HIV/Aids.
Colleen Dowdall, overall president of the Students' Union said, "UU Students' Union is committed to educating students about the worldwide impact of HIV and AIDS. We have a responsibility to inform students and to look at ways in which we can make a difference".
As part of this process, the University will be hosting a photographic exhibition in collaboration with Concern Worldwide called Positive Lives early next year.
It will be the first time that the Positive Lives exhibition has been shown in Northern Ireland and will focus on the personal stories those affected by HIV/Aids.
Anne Monaghan, community relations manager underlined the University's support saying, "The University is committed to helping educate people and develop awareness about HIV and AIDS."
The exhibition will be open to the public at the University of Ulster Jordanstown Campus from 25 January - 8 February 2006.
