Regional Development Minister Conor Murphy today marked Walk to School Week 2008 with the launch of a new schools initiative. Entitled ‘WOW!’ it stands for ‘Walk/Wheels Once a Week’. Over 45,000 primary and post primary school pupils here will be taking part in the Walk to School Week (19–23 May) enjoying the environmental, health, social and financial benefits of walking the journey to and from school.
