management and leadership network

The aim for the network is to enhance the business leadership of organisations in the manufacturing, service, voluntary and community sectors in Northern Ireland. It assists the thousands of smaller organisations who may not have the resources to address their management and leadership development needs. MLN achieve this by creating networks that connect people with needs to those who can provide solutions.

The Management and Leadership Network works in partnership with suppliers and Government to identify and facilitate the implementation of a Management & Leadership Strategy to strengthen the global competitiveness of the Northern Ireland economy.

NICVA has been working with MLN in the development of their strategy document. The work involved the private, public and voluntary and community sector in identifying their main challenges and associated management and leadership issues. Some of the key challenges for the voluntary and community sector identified were: funding-led environment does not always include investment for leadership development and cultural barriers such as ethos v business approach.

MLN seek to encourage all organisations in the voluntary and community sector to have an integrated management and leadership development plan as part of their overall business plan.
